Legal Talk on Gender-Based Violence at the Red Cross
ABOGADAS LANCELOT strengthens its social commitment through legal awareness sessions on gender-based violence for Red Cross volunteers in Lanzarote.
As part of its ethical and professional commitment to the defence of human rights and gender equality, the law firm ABOGADAS LANCELOT, led by solicitor Alicia Martín Borreguero, continues to deliver a legal education programme focused on raising awareness and preventing gender-based violence. This work is carried out entirely on a pro bono basis, as an expression of the firm’s deep sense of social responsibility and dedication to public service through the law.
Throughout the year, ABOGADAS LANCELOT offers free talks and training sessions for groups that are particularly sensitive or strategically positioned in the fight against gender-based violence—ranging from healthcare and education professionals to law enforcement, community organisations, and third-sector entities. A central aim of these initiatives is to bring legal knowledge to those who work directly with victims or in at-risk environments, equipping them with the legal and practical tools needed to respond more effectively and sensitively.
On this occasion, as shown in the accompanying photograph, the training was delivered specifically to Red Cross volunteers in Lanzarote, an organisation that plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals. The session focused on key aspects such as recognising signs of gender-based violence, understanding the legal framework, and learning how to respond from a respectful, lawful and ethical perspective.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cruz Roja Lanzarote for trusting in our work and for creating spaces where the law can serve those who need it most. Our firm remains firmly committed to promoting this type of activity, which helps strengthen collective awareness and the social fabric in the face of gender-based violence—an entrenched structural issue that must be tackled from all fronts.
