Legal Training for Hospital Staff in Lanzarote

As part of its commitment to specialist legal training, the law firm ABOGADAS LANCELOT, represented by solicitor Alicia Martín Borreguero, had the honour of delivering a lecture entitled “The Legal and Ethical Framework of Medical Professional Confidentiality” at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote.

This initiative arose from the interest of the hospital’s Porters Department, which sought to strengthen the legal knowledge of its staff in matters related to professional confidentiality.

The session, specifically designed for the hospital porters, explored in depth the legal foundations of the duty of confidentiality in healthcare settings, the relevant legal framework, and the possible legal consequences of breaching this obligation.

During the session, the management of sensitive information accessed by these professionals in their daily work was explained clearly and practically, encouraging greater responsibility and legal awareness in the exercise of their duties.

This type of legal training not only enhances the understanding of non-medical staff regarding key aspects of the healthcare legal framework but also fosters a professional culture grounded in ethics, discretion, and respect for patients’ rights.

At ABOGADAS LANCELOT, we would like to thank the Porters Department for trusting our firm to support the professional development of their team. We are proud to contribute—through the practice of law—to the continuous improvement of the public healthcare system in the Canary Islands, offering practical legal training tailored to the realities of the healthcare sector.

We will continue working to provide high-value legal content for professionals across various fields, firmly convinced that legal knowledge is an essential tool for professional growth, conflict prevention, and the enhancement of care quality.
