The High Court of Justice of Murcia, Spain, has awarded compensation to the family of a young man who died after a tonsil operation and ordered the Regional Ministry of Health and an insurance company to compensate the parents of the deceased with 52,800 euros each and his sister with 19,373.97 euros.

The family alleged that the man suffered a haemorrhage from the wound during the postoperative period, which developed into a haemorrhage without the medical staff giving him due attention, and that he progressed unfavourably and had to be transferred to the ICU, where he died. Read more
